You are only missing the "rubber" mounting pad on the top of the head that was once held on by that glue, plus a quick release part (pictured below). You will notice that there is some remnant adhesive on top - no idea where this came from. Can someone with this tripod point me to the right key-word/part I need to buy? Unfortunately, available quick release posts on *bay don't look like the right fit.

The missing piece should contain the screw (to thread into a camera). I purchased a Slik u212 deluxe tripod that's missing a mount-piece figuring that I would just buy it separately. The local Goodwill had a tripod like this - with the same piece missing! Eventually the leg will either slip under load or the crack opens up allowing the pin to escape. The plastic housing supporting the ends of the lever's pivot pin developed cracks. I have experienced leg lock failures on several Slik tripods (one is an older U212 model) which all had the Slik flip lever design. It would be heavier than the 330DX, but more versatile. Apparently Slik has been making that model for a few decades, and it seems to be highly regarded. I've decided to look for an old Slik U212.
